Job Description

We are looking for a Vendor Relations Manager (Quantity Surveyor) who will play a crucial role in managing the costs of our projects while maintaining positive vendor relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on time, while also negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices for buyers on cutstruct.com platform. He/she will also drive strategic vendor onboarding and manage relationship with vendors. These would be vendors of construction materials and industrial development space.

Responsibilities

  • Relate with vendors consistently to manage their challenges, ensure they get their products and prices updated, inform them of RFQs and ensure they have effective quality materials delivered to the clients in due time.
  • Continuously onboard new vendors on the platform across various categories
  • Oversee daily order fulfillment activities, including order processing, loading and delivery, and ensure orders are fulfilled as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible.
  • Ensure successful fulfillment of all RFQs.
  • Manage and update an accurate database of all vendors, and leads.
  • Work alongside a 3rd Party Logistics Partners, and utilizing their order management software, warehouse management software etc. to optimize warehouse and fulfillment operations.
  • Develop and contribute to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the vendor team to aid order fulfillment and meet operational goals.
  • Develop and sustain long-standing relationships with all onboarded vendors, and improve vendor performance, and lead times.
  • Meet with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
  • Conduct research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality.
  • Continually monitor sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others.
  • Implement vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured.
  • Implement vendor tiering system to ensure vendors are categorized by rating to aid the assessment of vendor performance
  • Conduct interviews with new vendors and inform approved vendors of their responsibilities and obligations.
  • Continuously educate vendors on how the platform works, new features, and on new processes and policies.
  • Evaluate current vendor management programs and identifying ways to improve them.
  • Provide support to team members and the vendors, they onboard.
  • Report daily and weekly on multiple fulfillment and performance KPIs.

Qualification

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Quantity Surveyor & Vendor Relations Manager role
  • BSc / MSc in Quantity Surveyor, Civil Engineering or Architecture
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Experience using CRMs and other tech skills, is of great advantage
