Despite past differences with Bobrisky and other figures in the crossdressing community, Very Dark Man has taken a stand, highlighting the issues surrounding Area Mama’s untimely demise.
In a recent post, Very Dark Man shared the devastating news of Area Mama’s death, who was killed in Abuja. The post included a blurred image of the crime scene, showing Area Mama lifeless on the ground with the contents of his handbag scattered around. Very Dark Man also posted old videos documenting a previous attack on Area Mama, providing context to his recent murder.
The videos showed Area Mama recounting an earlier knife attack at Karimo Market in Abuja. In these clips, he explained how passersby had watched him suffer without intervening and mentioned his use of ‘juju’—a form of spiritual protection that allegedly backfired, leading to unintended romantic advances from his clients. Very Dark Man speculated that if Area Mama had continued using the ‘juju’, it might have prevented his recent tragedy.
Very Dark Man called on the Nigerian police to investigate the murder thoroughly, urging them to revisit Area Mama’s previous residence and determine the identity of his attacker. He also used this opportunity to issue a warning to other crossdressers like Bobrisky and Jay Boogie, advising them to maintain a low profile to avoid similar targeted violence.
He underscored the harsh reality of Nigerian society’s resistance to gay and crossdressing lifestyles, stressing that while disagreements with personal lifestyles are common, no one has the right to resort to violence.
