Job Description
Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with the company’s policies and vision
Responsibilities
- Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with the company’s policies and vision
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
- Plan work rotes, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc.)
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
- Supervising warehouse staff and daily activities.
- Managing, evaluating and reporting on warehouse productivity.
- Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
- Performing a daily inspection of the warehouse grounds.
- Coordinating and maintaining fleets and equipment.
- Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers.
Qualification
- BSc/HND degree in chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering or related.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a warehouse supervisor/manager handling similar responsibilities.
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Must be proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
- Time management skills and the ability to delegate.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
