David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is a Nigerian Afrobeat artist who has revealed that his connection with Burna Boy, a fellow artist in the industry, is extremely precarious. He claimed they get along well but “don’t actually talk” to one another.
Recently, Davido was a guest on Hot 97FM’s Ebro in the Morning Program in New York, USA. The Omo Baba Olowo singer, when discussing cooperation among Afrobeats musicians, said:
Afrobeats [artists] we are in unity. I spoke to Burna [Boy]. He called me. He calls me as well but we’ve not really spoken like that.
When asked if he intended to settle his conflict with Burna Boy, Davido responded –
“I think I definitely would. He [Burna Boy] called me. Wiz [Kid] called me. And funny enough, me and Burna used to be mad close. Very very close.”
Recall that in 2020, Davido and Burna Boy’s relationship deteriorated, leading to a number of arguments between the two. In a club in Ghana, the two are said to have fought and traded punches.
Speaking of the incident, he said-
“Funny enough, it wasn’t even us. It was our people [team]. It was crazy because it didn’t even involve us.”
