made the ‘better’ decision to join the Bundesliga side over Man United.
The forward was on Man United’s shortlist as manager Erik ten Hag made the signing of a new striker one of his priorities in the summer transfer window. However, the Premier League giants did not follow up on their interest in the 20-year-old and instead opted to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta in a £72 million deal.
Sesko, meanwhile, completed his £ 20.6 million move to RB Leipzig in the summer after the deal with Red Bull Salzburg was initially agreed in 2022.
When asked about Man United’s interest, Sesko told Transfermarkt:
“The thing is, I was not really involved in these kinds of conversations.
“But I think it was better to come here.
“It was very important for me to go to a place that plays a similar style of football.
“I already knew what I had to do and didn’t have to go through a whole learning process again.”
