The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured President Bola Tinubu that residents of the nation’s capital will witness firsthand the developmental projects initiated by the current administration.
Speaking during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in Abuja, Wike emphasised his commitment to ensuring transparency and effective communication of government efforts to improve infrastructure and public services in the FCT.
Wike stated that his administration would implement a robust public engagement strategy to keep citizens informed about projects ranging from road construction to improved utilities and enhanced security measures.
“It is not enough to execute projects; the people must see and feel the impact of these initiatives,” the minister remarked. He added that regular town hall meetings and project updates would form part of this communication approach.
The former Rivers State governor highlighted several priority areas, including the completion of abandoned projects, urban renewal programs, and the development of satellite towns.
He expressed confidence that these efforts would significantly improve living standards in the capital territory while demonstrating the Tinubu administration’s commitment to good governance.
Wike also called for residents’ cooperation, noting that some projects might require temporary inconveniences but would ultimately deliver long-term benefits. His comments come amid growing public interest in the FCT’s development trajectory under the new administration.
