Nollywood actor and producer Yomi Fabiyi has taken to social media to boast about his accomplishments while revealing that he has moved to a secure, undisclosed location following threats to his life.
Fabiyi, who has been vocal about his quest for justice in the mysterious death case of late singer Mohbad, opened up about the challenges he has faced. He expressed his commitment to both his craft and his advocacy for justice, truth, and human rights.
Reflecting on his career, Fabiyi explained that his movies were created not only to entertain audiences but also to feed himself and build a legacy.
When I make films, I want to entertain people, feed myself, build a legacy for myself, and enjoy my life. This comes with many friends and admirers,” he wrote. However, his fight for justice and human rights, he admitted, brought a different kind of challenge.
When I fight for justice, truth, and human rights, I want to help society, sacrifice for society, build a legacy, suffer pains, but it comes with little or no friends. I choose the latter. It is the path I wish to follow going forward. I still have huge consideration for the former, too,” he added.
Fabiyi had recently raised the alarm about threats to his life, claiming that he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. He revealed that those behind the threats were still plotting against him due to his outspoken stance on the Mohbad case.
In a video post, the actor showed a room where he claimed he was hiding before being rushed to the airport for safety. He has since relocated to a foreign country, describing it as a place “where the system works for everybody” and where authorities do not cover up crimes.
Despite the fear and uncertainty surrounding his safety, Fabiyi remains committed to his advocacy for truth and justice, all while balancing his passion for filmmaking.
