Nollywood actor and producer Yomi Fabiyi has revealed a threatening message sent to one of the neighbors of late singer Ilerioluwa Promise, popularly known as Mohbad.
In the chilling message, the neighbour and his children’s lives were threatened, with the perpetrators making it clear that they were being monitored and their car plate number was known.
Yomi shared that the neighbor received the message on September 11, 2024, right before their scheduled meeting with the IT specialist responsible for Mohbad’s house CCTV. The actor disclosed that they were attempting to retrieve footage from the CCTV cameras inside the house, as the events surrounding Mohbad’s death remain shrouded in mystery.
According to Yomi, there were active CCTV cameras installed in critical areas of Mohbad’s house, including the staircase, living room, kitchen, backyard, and front gate. He emphasized that the people who were present during Mohbad’s final moments know what happened, and the footage could provide crucial evidence.
In a direct message to Nigerian authorities, Yomi stressed that “Justice for Mohbad is non-negotiable.” He expressed concern that further deaths could occur as part of an effort to cover up the truth but urged Nigerians to demand a thorough investigation.
Despite currently being abroad, Yomi revealed that his freedom of movement has been restricted, as he is in hiding due to assassination threats. The actor claimed that individuals connected to Mohbad’s case, including a well-known actress, a transport union worker, a senior police officer, and top political figures, are involved in the plot to silence him.
Yomi previously disclosed that he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt and shared a video of the room where he hid before fleeing to the airport. He now resides in a country where he feels safe and where the justice system works without interference from powerful figures.
The actor’s ongoing campaign for justice has garnered significant attention, as Mohbad’s tragic death remains a topic of public interest. Yomi continues to call for a transparent investigation into the events surrounding the singer’s passing, vowing that “Aluta Continua”—the struggle continues.
