Yoruba Nollywood Mourns the Loss of Veteran Actor Sule Suebebe

The Yoruba Nollywood industry is in mourning following the death of veteran actor Dayo Adewunmi, popularly known as Sule Suebebe.

The actor passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, June 12th, at an undisclosed hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The sad news was shared by Ibadan-based cleric Pastor Ademola Amusan, also known as Agbala Gabriel, who had been caring for Suebebe during his illness. Announcing the actor’s death on Facebook, Pastor Amusan expressed his sorrow and prayed for Suebebe’s soul to rest in peace.

It’s a pity, Baba Suebebe died at a hospital this morning. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” he wrote.

The passing of Sule Suebebe has elicited a wave of mourning and reflection within the Nollywood community and among his fans:

Sule Suebebe had recently experienced a significant life change when he was gifted a brand new house by Pastor Gabriel. Videos captured online showed the veteran actor, who was in a wheelchair, expressing his gratitude and offering prayers for the clergyman and his congregation.

Before his passing, Suebebe publicly sought forgiveness from women he had wronged during his youth. In an emotional video, he admitted to his past wayward and lackadaisical lifestyle, especially during his time as a musician, and took accountability for his actions.

The Yoruba Nollywood community and fans continue to pay tribute to the legacy of Sule Suebebe, remembering his contributions to the film industry and his heartfelt plea for forgiveness.
