Tony Adams, a former captain of Arsenal, has warned the club that they must have a backup plan ready for the match against Manchester City. This match will determine who wins the title.
Tonight at the Etihad Stadium, Arsenal will take on Man City. The match is being popularly referred to as the “Premier League final.”
Man City, who has two games left, is five points behind Mikel Arteta’s team.
However, if Pep Guardiola’s side wins on Wednesday night, they will be two points behind with two games in hand.
“When I interviewed Martin Odegaard for TV on Monday, he asked me what advice I would give to Arsenal for Wednesday’s game at Manchester City. My answer was two words: ‘Don’t lose.’ If Arsenal can do that, the title race is still open,” Adams told The Sun.
“If not, it is all over. I would love nothing more than to see a boring 0-0 draw but I can guarantee that is not going to happen because Arsenal only knows one way to play — and that is s**t or bust.
“This current team does not have that balance. I don’t think he [Mikel Arteta] has a Plan B, so on Wednesday night, they will go to the Etihad and try to outplay the best team in Europe and probably not be good enough.
“Mikel has modeled everything on what his mate Pep Guardiola has done and, as a result, Arsenal is [Manchester] City Lite. But you can’t win the [Premier League] title by copying a better version because Pep has more resources in his arsenal than Arsenal. They’ve to try something different.”
