Veteran Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has shared his thoughts on the increasing rate of untimely deaths among young people, particularly in their twenties, thirties, and forties.
Taking to Instagram, the father of five linked the alarming trend to a societal shift away from traditional customs in favor of foreign religious practices. According to Edochie, the spirits that once protected individuals and their lands have departed in anger due to their abandonment.
Edochie encouraged a return to traditional ways, which he described as “pure and powerful.”
He wrote:
“Too many premature deaths these days. Young people dying in their twenties, thirties, forties. It is not normal.
It is happening because we have abandoned our traditional ways and embraced the ways of oyinbo people.
The spirits that protect many of us and our lands are angry because they have been relegated.
We must go back to our traditional ways, which are very pure and powerful.”
This perspective follows his earlier messages emphasizing the importance of love, forgiveness, and cherishing relationships. Edochie previously reminded fans of life’s fleeting nature, urging them to shed wickedness and hatred, and instead spread love and kindness.
Yul Edochie has been in the spotlight recently for his personal life, particularly his marriage to Judy Austin, his second wife.
- He shared a heartwarming video of the couple displaying affection, describing Judy Austin as an answered prayer.
- In his caption, he expressed gratitude to God for bringing her into his life, stating, “God always answers prayers in His way.”
