Nollywood actor, pastor, and former presidential candidate Yul Edochie is celebrating a major social media milestone after his latest post garnered 1.5 million views on Facebook.
In a recent video featuring Yul and his second wife, Judy Austin, the actor shared a playful moment as the two danced while Judy chanted in Igbo. Yul, known for his energetic antics, joined in with fierce moves and animal-like sounds. Within just 24 hours, the post received 1.5 million views, 84,000 likes, 28,000 comments, and 1,500 shares, prompting Yul to praise his fans on Instagram, calling them “the best” and wishing them prosperity.
1.5 million views on Facebook in 24 hours. 84 thousand likes. 28 thousand comments on Facebook. One thousand five hundred shares. In only 24hrs. Leave am, my fans are the best. Una side go dey prosper dey go. Correct people,” he wrote.
While Yul basked in the success of his viral post, not all his followers were impressed. Many fans criticized the actor for celebrating Facebook views while his estranged wife, May, was making strides with endorsement deals.
- @Priem_Tshabalala commented, “I never thought I’d see a 40-something-year-old man acting like a clown on social media and celebrating views, while men his age are acting on Netflix and owning businesses.”
- @Omolola12360 added, “You’re just making Judy a money-making machine.”
- @Jessy_Praiz pointed out, “Queen May is busy bagging different endorsements and Mr. Yul is busy counting views.”
- @D_Realsolz wrote, “You’re just using Judy for content, your heart is never far from May.”
This isn’t the first time Yul Edochie has celebrated his social media achievements. In July, he credited himself as the originator of the popular nickname ‘Nwunye Odogwu’, which he used to praise Judy Austin in 2022. The term has since become widely adopted.
Despite ongoing criticism over his marriage to a second wife, Yul has remained steadfast. Earlier this year, he shared advice on managing mental health by blocking toxic individuals on social media, a practice he openly enjoys. He also advised his followers not to let hate comments affect them, encouraging them to rise above online trolling.
