Yul Edochie clarifies Christian and Traditionalist belief, stating that serving both doesn’t mean worshipping two gods but expressing faith in different forms.
Nollywood actor and self-declared prophet, Yul Edochie, has once again sparked debate online as he addressed a widely held belief about religion. Taking to his Instagram page, the filmmaker asserted that being a Christian and a Traditionalist are not mutually exclusive paths.
“Being a Christian and a Traditionalist doesn’t mean you’re serving two Gods. No. It means you’re serving the same God in two different ways,” he wrote.
This statement comes amid ongoing conversations about his evolving spiritual journey. Since his separation from his first wife, May Edochie, Yul has embraced his role as a spiritual leader. He shocked many earlier this year when he declared himself both a prophet and a native doctor.
In March, Yul claimed that God instructed him to return to his roots and study the traditional practices of his people. According to him, only then did he feel complete. He emphasized that traditional worship is not evil but divinely approved.
“God told me to go home and learn the traditional ways of my people. When I obeyed, I became whole,” he said in a previous video.
In recent posts, the son of legendary actor Pete Edochie insisted that his spiritual calling combines Christian faith with traditional values. According to him, his mission is to lead people back to the traditions approved by God—practices he believes offer a path to salvation.
Just last week, Yul declared his renewed commitment to blending both belief systems, asserting that his message is rooted in divine instruction.
“God told me to lead His people back to their roots,” he said. “Our traditional ways are not devilish. They are godly and sacred.”
Yul’s stance continues to draw mixed reactions. While some applaud his boldness and spiritual conviction, others remain skeptical about his constant religious pivots.
