Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has stirred controversy online with his recent advice to men against sleeping with married women.
The actor, who had taken a break from his ministry, returned with a message to his gender, stating that men should only pursue relationships with women who are divorced to avoid spiritual destruction.
Men, no matter how you like women, avoid sleeping with people’s wives. It is a destroyer and will weaken you spiritually,” Yul advised.
The message, however, left many with mixed reactions. Critics pointed out Yul’s past, accusing him of hypocrisy, as he was involved with his now-wife, Judy Austin, while she was still married. Others speculated that his advice was directed at his estranged wife May’s rumoured new boyfriend.

In 2022, Judy Austin’s alleged ex-husband, Mr. Obasi, revealed that she began dating Yul in 2012 while still married to him. He accused her of leaving him and taking their kids after he refused to buy her a house in Enugu. Judy later claimed she met Yul after her first marriage ended in 2013, denying the cheating allegations.
The controversy continues to unfold, with Nigerian prophet Samuel King recently urging Yul to reconcile with his first wife, May, to avoid impending doom. Additionally, fellow actor Uche Maduagwu criticized Yul’s advice, calling for prayers for the actor and questioning the paternity of Judy’s children with Yul.
