Yul Edochie speaks against voice note on WhatsApp in a recent Instagram post, calling out those who drop voice notes without prior notice. The Nollywood actor made it clear that if someone sends him a voice message without asking first, he will simply delete it and carry on with the chat.
“If we’re chatting on WhatsApp, then you send me a voice note without asking me first, I’ll delete the voice note and continue chatting.
Who told you say I wan hear your voice?”
His post stirred conversation among fans, with many agreeing and others finding the statement amusing.
Yul’s comments echo sentiments previously shared by actress Anita Joseph, who called out a friend for initiating a video call out of the blue. She said it was disrespectful, especially from someone she hadn’t been in contact with for a while.
Known for sharing strong opinions online, Yul has never shied away from controversial takes. Last year, he openly said he enjoys blocking people who disturb his peace and encouraged others to guard their mental space the same way.
He also once advised netizens to stop stressing over hate comments on social media, saying trolls shouldn’t be given power. Reflecting on past criticisms about his marital life, Yul claimed those who mocked him have ended up losing their own marriages and careers.
In another post, he addressed fears around ageing, calling it a blessing. He encouraged people to stop comparing their timelines with others, stressing that life isn’t a race and everyone has their own journey.
