As Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede enters the New Year, she is reflecting on her journey through 2024, marked by independence and mindfulness.
Taking to Instagram, the talented actress shared her thoughts on singlehood, gratitude, and hope for the future while wishing her fans a year filled with blessings.
Yvonne Jegede took to her Instagram to post photos of herself on a flight, sharing her reflections on starting and ending 2024 as a single woman. She described her experience as “very demure, consistent, and mindful” and prayed that 2025 brings blessings and fulfillment of everyone’s heart desires.
In her words:
See how I started 2024 single and ended it single??? Very demure, very consistent, very mindful, very much single.
2025 is here, and it will be a blessing to every one of us. May your heart desires not only come but come easy.
Stay out of trouble and stay blessed.
HAPPY NEW YEAR. Cheers to a new beginning.”
Yvonne’s candid reflections extend beyond her current single status. In 2024, the actress shared insights about the qualities she seeks in a partner, expressing her desire for a man with a kind heart, empathy, and financial stability—someone who could give her N20 million when she asks for N1 million.
Reflecting on her past, Yvonne spoke openly about her decision to leave her marriage. She revealed that her financial contributions far exceeded her ex-husband’s, which led to tension. Choosing love over money, a decision she now regrets, she noted that her ex-husband often misconstrued jokes as disrespect, worsening their relationship.
Yvonne Jegede married Olakunle Fawole, the son of the late actress Bukky Ajayi, in February 2018. Unfortunately, the union was short-lived, as the couple separated a year later while Yvonne was still pregnant with their son, Xavier.
In an interview, Yvonne described her ex-husband as a deadbeat father who has shown little interest in their child’s life. She recounted that he only visited Xavier once after she issued an ultimatum and has not celebrated their son on his birthdays.
Despite the challenges, Yvonne is deeply grateful for her son, Xavier, who she credits with giving her life purpose. She confessed that without her son, she might not have survived the emotional toll of her failed marriage.
