Joshua Agboola, a 13-year-old programmer, has become Africa’s youngest Certified Amazon Web Services (AWS) Developer Associate.

Agboola accomplished the achievement following a two-hour examination that assessed his abilities and understanding in installing, troubleshooting, and creating on the AWS cloud platform, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Infrastructure, platforms, or software that are hosted by outside providers and made accessible to customers online are referred to as cloud services.

In an interview with NAN on Sunday in Lagos, Agboola claimed that his great performance on the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner test earlier in the year served as motivation for him to accomplish the feat.

He claimed that as a result, his father had pushed him to further in his quest of a cloud job by taking the following level of certification.

Although Agboola had a growing interest in DevOps, he followed the accepted process and obtained the Solutions Architect Associate credential.

He stated:

“I was initially preparing for the Solutions Architect Associate certification which is the next certification most people take in their AWS cloud journey, but had a change of mind for a tougher developer associate certification due to encouragement from an older friend programmer.

“The light bulb went up in my head, and I began studying the next day.

“The possibility of clinching the title of the youngest Developer Associate in the world, which is an equivalent of a world record in the cloud space, also became a strong motivation for me.’’
