The Centre for Rural Development trained a total of 500 rural residents in modern fishing techniques. The centre is under the State Ministry of Local Government and Community Matters. During the exercise, 100 participants in Epe and Badagry divisions received empowerment materials to get them off to a smooth start. Items included two large plastic fish containers, 1,000 fries fish food of various sizes, and medicine.
The Director and Chief Executive Officer of CERUD, Mr Stephen Adeniji, advised the beneficiaries to optimise the use of the materials given to them. They can enhance their economic well-being and also contribute their quota to the state government’s agenda. They can alongside the government increase agricultural production and enhance food security in Lagos State.
Showing appreciation for the gesture of the Lagos State Government, the beneficiaries promised to take advantage of the opportunity. They aim to improve their living standard and contribute to the agricultural development embarked upon by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
