Manchester City ‘Ready’ to allow Laporte leave

Spanish center-back Aymeric Laporte will be allowed to leave Manchester City if he pushes for an exit this summer, according to various reports.

The cityzens are prepared to sell the 28 year old whose game time has reduced in the past 12 months with Pep Guardiola opting for John stones and Ruben Dias as starting center backs.

Also, Manuel Akanji has been a big reason why Laporte has spent most of the season on the bench, featuring regularly at the expense of the Spaniard.

The defender is thought to be frustrated by his limited game time, and City will sanction departures for any players who are unsettled at the club.

Laporte, who cost £57 million from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, has featured just twice in all competitions since a draw at Nottingham Forest in February.

PSG are rumored to be tracking him as a potential replacement should Sergio Ramos decide to leave.

The versatile defender has also been linked with a return to Spain, with Barcelona also interested.

Manchester City take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena. The Cityzens head into the tie with a 3-0 lead from the first leg.
