Ifedayo Olarinde, a well-known broadcaster, and socialite better known by his stage as Daddy Freeze, has explained why it is selfish to testify that you survived a sad tragedy that resulted in the deaths of others.
The presenter is popularly known for his divisive opinions. He stated that it is selfish of people to thank God for saving them in the face of fatalities. Daddy Freeze said that such a gesture is self-indulgent by using the example of a collapsed building where ten people perished and only one person survived and chose to testify rather than grieve.
Freeze, in a post on his Instagram page, said:
“10 people lost their lives in a collapsed building, and the one person who survived gives testimony?, Really? This is not a testimony. Rather, it’s the manifestation of our innate caveman mentality, built on the foundations of selfishness and greed.
”Would the early churches in Jerusalem or Antioch have approved such testimony? Instead, it should be a time of mourning for the lost lives.”
Daddy Freeze asked why people didn’t thank God after Tinubu was declared the victor of the recently ended presidential election. He said this in response to a comment that the Bible commands Christians to do so in all circumstances. If anything, it is quite unchristian to rub the misery of others in their faces.
