Professor Chidi Odinkalu, Former Chairman of Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission, has frowned upon a recent court order barring the National Youth Service (NYSC) from issuing a disclaimer, denying the authentication of its certificate, issue to Mr. Peter Mbah, the Enugu State Governor-elect.
The Former Chairman of Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) wondered how a conscientious judge could think of issuing such an order.
His remarks were included in a post on his Twitter account on Monday.
Recall that Justice Inyang Ekwo, in an ex parte order, barred the NYSC from continuing to issue a disclaimer that the Corps did not issue Peter Mbah’s NYSC certificate.
The NYSC wrote a letter signed by Ibrahim Muhammed in February stating that the Corps did not issue Mbah’s NYSC certificate. Mr. Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party won Enugu state’s March 18 gubernatorial election.
How on earth does a judge even think of making this kind of order with a clear conscience unless there are things involved that a judge shd not be involved with….?!https://t.co/rk6nX8Ok40

Still, Mr. Odinkalu argued that the judge could not issue such an order in good conscience. He wrote;
