In a show of solidarity, Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has stepped forward to support her colleague Adunni Ade. This is coming amidst a heated controversy surrounding debt allegations. The late actor Murphy Afolabi’s burial committee had publicly accused Adunni of owing him money. This sparked a flurry of reactions within the industry.
However, Adunni Ade vehemently denied the claims. She asserted that she had already repaid the money to Murphy Afolabi before his untimely passing. In a display of unwavering support, Nkechi Blessing defended Adunni. She further attempted to shed light on the adversities faced by individuals disliked within the film industry. She pointed out that when someone becomes a target, influential figures in positions of authority spare no effort to bring them down.
In an Instagram post, Nkechi Blessing expressed her relief that the ultimate judgement lies with a higher power, stating,
If they hate someone in that industry, they will go to any length to see that person fall. Thank God that man is not God… It’s well!”
Nkechi’s stance garnered the support of fellow actors Adewunmi Fatia and Alesh Sanni, who also voiced their opinions on the debt claims. Alesh Sanni expressed his disbelief, questioning the motives behind the accusations, while Adewunmi Fatia shared her exhaustion from dealing with such baseless controversies.
