President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has disclosed what his administration would do to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians. As a result of the removal of fuel subsidies.
Tinubu made the announcement on Monday during a live broadcast to Nigerians honoring Democracy Day.
Remember that his administration just cut gasoline subsidies, raising petrol pump prices from N197 to almost N500 per liter.
Tinubu, on the other hand, encouraged Nigerians to bear the temporary suffering, saying that his administration will give relief.
To compensate for the loss of gasoline subsidies, he says the government would invest heavily in transportation infrastructure, education, regular power, healthcare, and other public services.
“Painfully, I have asked you, my compatriots, to sacrifice a little more for the survival of our country. For your trust and belief in us, I assure you that your sacrifice shall not be in vain.
“The government I lead will repay you through massive investment in transportation infrastructure, education, regular power supply, healthcare and other public utilities that will improve the quality of lives”, he stated.
