Epe Ogunmodede Club, a Lagos social club, has asked lawmakers of the National Assembly to use their positions wisely and to represent the people meritoriously. The Epe Ogunmodede club’s President, Omodele Ibrahim, made the plea to the elected representatives on behalf of the social club.

Ibrahim asked them to exercise the democratic mandate bestowed upon them by the people of Lagos East Senatorial District, Epe Constituency I, and Lagos Mainland II to make a difference in their district and constituency.

He stated that “they (lawmakers) have been elected by their constituents to represent them and serve them with honesty, diligence, and excellence. They have been entrusted with a free political mandate that comes with great responsibility and accountability. They must not take this mandate for granted or abuse it for selfish interests. They must use it to impact lives and make a positive difference in their constituencies and district.

“They must be guided by the principles and values of their party, which are justice, equity, progress, and unity. They must be loyal to our leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who has sacrificed so much for the growth and development of Lagos State and Nigeria.”

Ibrahim urged lawmakers to participate in open discussions with their communities, actively listen to their issues, and try to resolve them, emphasising the significance of openness, accountability, and empathy.
