Insecurity: Gov Lawal Meet Security Chiefs in Abuja to Teething Insecurity in Zamfara

Dauda Lawal, the governor of Zamfara state, says he had reached an agreement with security chiefs in Abuja to handle the state’s initial security concerns.

Governor Lawal met with the top brass of security services, according to a press statement signed and delivered to newsmen in Gusau by the Senior Special Assistant, SSA to the Governor on Broadcast and Public Affairs, Mustapha Jafarau Kaura.

The National Security Adviser to the President, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defense Staff, CDS Major General Christopher Musa as well as Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Major General Torfeed Lagbaja are among the senior brass of security services with whom the state is in contact, according to the statement.

He stated that the state is deliberating with security officials on how to overcome the state’s persistent security issues in both kinetic and non-kinetic measures.

“On the Economic point of view, Governor Lawal also met with the European Commission Ambassador to Nigeria, Miss Emenuela Isopi, World Bank Officials in Nigeria, as well as representatives of the Islamic Bank in Nigeria where the Governor galvanised support, corporation and understanding of these international monetary agencies to invest massively in the state in the areas of girl child education, rural water supply, healthcare delivery system and other relevant sectors”

“The Governor’s quest on soliciting for financial support to Zamfara State took him to London together with some influential Nigerians to attend the Annual International Polo tournament organised by Access Bank holdings in honour of former Emir of Kano HRH, Muhammad Sanusi the 2nd where an appeal fund was launched in London to cater for the education of the less privileged in Northern Nigerian which the state got opportunity to be included”

“With these wide range of consultations, National and international engagements of Governor Lawal and his unprecedented acceptance by both high-level security chiefs and international development agencies, the narratives of the state will soon change for the better which is part of the rescue mission agenda of the present administration.”
