Dikko Radda, the governor of Katsina, has urged security personnel in the state to speed up their existing efforts to combat banditry and other various crimes.
The governor said this while paying a condolence visit to the family of Ibrahim Abdullahi, who was killed by the terrorists who attacked the Kankia town over the weekend.
Abdullahi was shot and killed by the terrorists that were carried out in the town on Saturday night.
While vehemently condemning the heinous crime, Radda stated his commitment to finding solutions to the state’s ongoing security issues.
The governor also urged the state’s security organisations to work more to ensure the protection and safety of Katsina inhabitants.
He stated: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, and we stand united with the people of Kankia during this challenging time. May the soul of Ibrahim Abdullahi rest in peace.’’
At nine o’clock on Saturday night, the terrorists struck a neighbourhood next to the General Hospital in Kankia.
According to the locals, Abdullahi was shot in the groyne as he stood in front of his brother’s house and lost his life.
