The Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Jos, has confirmed the election of Caleb Mutfwang of the Peoples Democratic Party as Plateau State Governor and dismissed the appeal brought by Nentawe Goshwe of the All Progressives Congress.

Mutfwang was declared the victor of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission after receiving 525,299 votes, defeating Yiltwatda, who received 481,370 votes during the March 18 election.

Also, the tribunal dismissed a petition made by Alfred Dabwan, the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, against Governor Mutfwang.

Dabwan had petitioned the tribunal for the annulment of the election due to INEC’s purported failure to include his party’s emblem on the ballot.
