Amaju Pinnick, the former president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has taken to the stage during his ‘Warri Again’ event to publicly address Afrobeat sensation Davido, accusing the singer of reneging on a contractual commitment.

Expressing his disappointment, Pinnick revealed that despite paying Davido a substantial sum of $94,000 and arranging a private jet at an additional cost of $18,000 to transport the singer and his team to the event in Warri, Delta State, Davido failed to make an appearance. The no-show has left a significant void in the event and a letdown for the city of Warri.

Pinnick, visibly frustrated, disclosed that upcoming rapper Shallipopi stepped in as the replacement headliner. In addition to detailing the financial investments made for Davido, Pinnick pointed out the singer’s perceived egoism. He drew a comparison between Davido and his rival Burna Boy, asserting that Burna Boy exhibited a higher level of professionalism.

We paid Davido $94,600 and booked a private jet for $18,000 to perform at an event in Warri, Delta State, and he didn’t show up.” – Ex NFF President Amaju Pinnick.

This public call-out by Pinnick adds a layer of controversy to Davido’s reputation, sparking discussions about artist professionalism and honouring contractual obligations in the entertainment industry.
