Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, continues to insist on a DNA test to be conducted on his grandson, Liam, in his presence. The need for a DNA test to ascertain the true paternity of the late singer’s child has sparked heated controversy among Nigerians.
In a recent interview with Stams TV, Mohbad’s father emphasized the significance of a DNA test for his grandson, stating that it has become a matter of national concern. Addressing rumors that a DNA test had already been carried out, he categorically stated that such a test could not proceed without his consent.
Mr. Aloba stressed his desire to be physically present during the DNA test or to appoint a representative to be there to ensure the accuracy of the results. He further proposed that the test should be conducted at two different hospitals for added certainty.
He explained,
Concerning the DNA test, it’s a must they do it. Nigerians are demanding for it. I heard rumours that they did it, but no matter what, I’m Mohbad’s father, so I’ll give consent on the DNA test or send anyone who can represent me during the test if I’m not there to know how they’ll do it. And even when they want to do it, it should be done in two different places so we can be very sure and know the truth.”
Mr. Aloba expressed his willingness to accept Liam if the DNA test confirms his grandson’s paternity. He also shared heartfelt memories of his son Mohbad and the importance of resolving the paternity issue for the sake of the future.
The demand for a DNA test has become a contentious issue, and many Nigerians eagerly await the outcome.
