The long-awaited CNG buses have been delivered to the State House by the federal government.

The government also launched the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), with about seven conversion facilities established around Nigeria.

The President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajibiamila, observed the initiative’s official launch on Friday at the State House in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Presidential CNG Initiative Steering Committee, Zacch Adedeji, was represented by the Chief Executive Officer of the Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed when he handed over the CNG buses to the State House.

He stated that the buses represent Tinubu’s administration’s determination to lead an energy revolution.

Engr Micheal Oluwagbemi, Project Director of the Presidential CNG Initiative, stated that state governments have already expressed interest in investing in CNG buses.

Speaking on the cost of conversion, Oluwagbemi disclosed that the present cost varies depending on the brand and kind of car and that the president has assured that the PCNGI committee would lower the cost for the Nigerian people.
