The Lagos State Police have officially initiated an investigation into Afrobeat singer Tiwa Savage’s petition against her colleague and former friend, Davido.
This development comes after Tiwa Savage filed a complaint with the Commissioner of Police, alleging insults, threats, and online harassment from Davido.
In her petition, Tiwa Savage detailed how an Instagram story post with Davido’s baby mama, Sophia Momodu, triggered a series of events, leading to a breakdown in their relationship. The singer claimed that mutual friends questioned her actions, as Davido allegedly badmouthed her and portrayed her as the aggressor in her relationship with Sophia Momodu.
The Command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the receipt of Tiwa Savage’s petition and announced the commencement of an investigation in a statement to the public. He stated, “I can confirm that we received the petition. We have begun an investigation.”
The ongoing drama between Tiwa Savage and Davido gained public attention when they unfollowed each other on social media. Tee Billz, Tiwa Savage’s baby daddy, publicly criticized Davido for disrespecting his family and threatened to reveal details about the ongoing rift after the Grammys.
In leaked online chats between the singers, Tiwa Savage called out Davido for his alleged actions and prayed for divine justice. The exchange escalated, with both artists exchanging harsh words, including accusations and threats.
