The Dangote Petroleum Refinery will supply fuel to around 150,000 retail outlets managed by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, following a meeting between refinery management and IPMAN executives.

Last Monday, IPMAN planned a meeting with Dangote refinery management to discuss the delivery of goods to independent marketers.

When reached on Friday evening to confirm the meeting, IPMAN President Abubakar Maigandi indicated that the association had finally met with the refinery’s management, and that the latter had promised to distribute products to IPMAN’s over 30,000 members.

This was announced concurrently with further information that the refinery’s refined products were being examined by the downstream oil sector regulator, pending the facility’s authorization to supply fuel to the public.

In order to lift and distribute refined petroleum products made by the $20 billion facility, seven major oil marketers in Nigeria have registered with the refinery.

According to the report, dealers operating under the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria confirmed on Sunday that after registration they would start distributing petroleum generated by the facility when the contractual conditions were resolved.

11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc and NNPC Retail are among the seven leading marketers.
