President Bola Tinubu has announced plans to implement some of the Oronsaye Report’s recommendations.
This is primarily done to reduce the expense of governance.
This comes 12 years after the Steve Oronsaye Panel published its report on restructuring and rationalising Federal government parastatals and agencies, followed by a white paper two years later.
According to Bayo Onanuga, the President and the Federal Executive Council agreed on Monday to put the findings into action.
“Many agencies will be scrapped and many others will be merged, to pave the way to a leaner government,” he added.
