Terrorists in Kaduna state on Sunday night, launched a new attack on the Kajuru-Station village in Kajuru Local Government Area, kidnapping 87 persons.
Harisu Dari, a youth from Kajuru Station, verified the incident to newsmen on Monday.
Harisu claimed that the terrorists invaded the village at approximately ten o’clock at night, in addition to breaking into some stores and stealing food and other goods.
Less than two days had passed since a man and fifteen women were kidnapped in the same local government’s Dogon-Noma neighbourhood.
Tension in the state has been caused by the abduction hotspot that has emerged in the last two weeks in Kajuru and Chikun LGs.
Harisu clarified that the 87 residents kidnapped on Sunday night had not yet been contacted.
According to him:
“As of the time I visited the community this morning, security operatives have not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers.
“The villagers are traumatized by the sad development. The government needs to re-strategise in tackling these terrorists.”
