Nigeria has been voted as the current head of the United Nations Human Settlement Programme’s (UN-Habitat) executive board, according to Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo.
This was revealed during a discussion between UN-Habitat’s Portfolio Manager for West Africa, Mathias Spaliviero, and Gwarzo.
He said:
“Nigeria is the current chair of the executive board of the United Nations Human Settlement Programme (UN-Habitat).”
Gwarzo expressed joy and assured the programme manager that Nigeria will complete duties.
He urged the ministry and UN-Habitat to work together more closely to realise President Bola Ahmad Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Housing and Urban Development in Nigeria.
The Minister restated the Ministry’s commitment to providing secure, healthy, and decent surroundings for all Nigerians.
