Governor of Nasarawa State Abdullahi Sule has introduced new buses dubbed the “Nasarawa Luxury Ride” to facilitate resident mobility and enhance connectivity throughout the state, following the termination of the fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu’s government.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, issued a statement to media in Lafia on Tuesday that included this information.

According to Ahemba, Adamu Gosho, the State Commissioner for Works and Transport, represented the Governor during the commissioning of the new buses at the Yahaya Sabo Bus Terminal in Lafia.

He said that the introduction of the new buses was intended to alleviate the existing economic hardship, especially the high cost of road travel, and to enhance the living standards of state people.

The SSA went on to say that the programme was part of the government’s commitment to improving the state’s transport infrastructure and services, improving inhabitants’ everyday lives and promoting sustainable mobility alternatives.

Ahemba stated that inhabitants and tourists to the state will be able to enjoy a better commuting experience, with lower costs, shorter travel times, higher comfort, and greater dependability.

He said:

“To enhance efficiency and proper management of the new buses, the State Government has engaged the services of Mash, a renowned transportation company to achieve set targets.

“The new buses are designed to meet the transportation needs of residents of Nasarawa State. The buses boast advanced technology, ergonomic interiors, and superior fuel efficiency, making them an ideal choice for both short and long-distance journeys.

“The vehicles are also equipped with facilities to cater for the needs of elderly passengers, people with disabilities and families travelling with little children, thus ensuring inclusivity across all segments of the society and overall comfort.”

The SSA consequently urged locals to embrace and support the new public transit system for the sake of the state.
