Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima emphasised the need for North-East governors to unite and work together to address the region’s challenges.
He praised the governors’ friendship, sense of purpose, and dedication to regional development.
On Saturday, the vice president revealed this during the launching of Bauchi’s newly restored and remodelled ultramodern Government House.
He said:
“I want to take this opportunity to commend our governors for their camaraderie, sense of purpose, and commitment. Our governors are united in the common cause of repositioning the North-East subregion.
“There is no room for conflict among us. We are all united, and it is time for us to come together as a single unit to address the monumental challenges facing our subregion.”
While commissioning the Government House, Shettima praised Governor Bala Mohammed for having the vision and commitment to pursue the project despite the government’s limited resources.
He advised governors in the Northeastern subregion to prioritise infrastructure and economic growth initiatives in their shared effort to construct legacy projects in their states.
He emphasised that successful leadership necessitated a positive working environment facilitating the development and execution of commendable policies and activities.
“This will facilitate effective service delivery to the people of the state, charging leaders to always prioritise developmental projects so as to block the infrastructural gaps in their respective states for development,” he stated.
