The Senate Committee on Defence on Monday said that no investment in security and the Armed Forces of Nigeria would be too much for the country to endure, citing the ongoing security situation in some areas.
Senator Ahmad Lawal, the committee’s Chairman, said this while speaking to reporters during an oversight visit to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji, Kaduna state.
The Senator stated that today, everything in the country revolves around security.
He assured that the upper parliamentary house will continue to give the nation’s security and military forces the priority they now deserve.
He said:
“When we are able to secure our environment, then we can provide other things easily and comfortably.”
Senator Lawal said that the AFCSC is regarded by the Senate as one of the most significant organizations that train and educate the country’s armed forces.
”This is at both tactical, operational and mid-level for officers that lead various military operations,” according to Lawal.
