Nigerian music star Davido has come under criticism after sharing a video of his second daughter, Hailey, enjoying a luxurious vacation in the Bahamas.
The singer, who is known for doting on his children, posted a clip of him and Hailey boarding a private jet as he returned her to the U.S. for school while heading back to work.
While many fans praised the father-of-six for spending quality time with his daughter, a social media user took to X (formerly Twitter) to caution Davido against exposing his children to opulence. The user argued that it could “spoil their way of thinking” and suggested enrolling Hailey in a public school to help her interact with diverse backgrounds.
Stop exposing your children to luxury at a young age; it can spoil their way of thinking. I advise you to enroll her in a public school where she can interact with people from diverse backgrounds,” the user wrote.
The unsolicited advice sparked backlash from fans who criticized the user’s remarks as reflective of a “poverty mindset.”
One user, @BrainyGoddess, commented, “Advise too plenty for pøor man’s mouth.”
Another, @Tmtpilot, wrote, “Hm, way go public school, how far?”
Despite the criticism, Davido’s bond with Hailey remains strong. The artist often shares moments of their time together, including vacations and birthday celebrations.
