Nollywood actress and award-winning filmmaker Funke Akindele has shared the touching Mother’s Day messages she received from her twin boys.
In a video posted on her Snapchat, Funke showed off two adorable cards from her sons, who showered her with love and appreciation. One of the twins described her as kind, beautiful, and helpful, while the other declared her the best mother in the world.
Happy Mother’s Day! I love you. You are kind. You are beautiful. You are helpful. Love from Zach.”
The second twin wrote,
Dear mummy, you are the best mummy in the world.”
A few weeks ago, Funke responded to a fan who suggested she have another child. The actress playfully replied that she had taken down the fan’s name and address so he could babysit the new baby.
Funke shares her twins with her ex-husband, JJC Skillz. Their marriage ended in 2022 after seven years, with JJC revealing that communication had broken down, and Funke had asked him to leave their home. In an interview, Funke explained that their visions for marriage no longer aligned, leading to their decision to part ways.
Before JJC Skillz, Funke was married to Adeola Kehinde Oloyede in 2013, but their union ended in 2016 due to irreconcilable differences. Reflecting on that experience, she urged young women not to rush into marriage due to societal pressure, revealing that her first marriage ended badly and cost her several endorsement deals.
Last year, when a Twitter user advised her to remarry in 2024 because she was getting older, Funke humorously thanked him for his advice, calling him her wedding planner.
Funke Akindele continues to thrive as a mother and filmmaker, balancing her career with raising her twin boys.
