Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration to foster lasting peace and prosperity in the country.
Speaking during the Eid al-Adha prayers at the National Eid Ground along Airport Road in Abuja, Shettima emphasized the importance of national unity and collective sacrifice in addressing the nation’s challenges.
He highlighted that Eid al-Adha, rooted in the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience and sacrifice, serves as a reminder of the virtues necessary for building a strong and united Nigeria.
Shettima described the occasion as a period of sober reflection, a time to reach out to the less privileged, and an opportunity to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.
Drawing a metaphor, the Vice President stated, “Life is a marathon, and as individuals, we may run faster, but we can wear out easily. But as a family, as a collective, as a nation, we can gain greater traction and reach our desired destination.”
Shettima stressed the need for citizens to support President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that unity of purpose and shared sacrifice are vital in tackling issues such as insecurity and poverty.
He remarked, “What binds us together supersedes whatever divides us. I thank all Nigerians for their support and empathy, and call on all of us to coalesce into a single purse to confront all of our common challenges of insecurity, destitution, and so many other challenges.”
The Shettima’s appeal underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering national cohesion and addressing pressing socio-economic issues through collective effort and unity.
