Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has boldly declared herself a prophet, stating that her movies serve as a source of healing and inspiration to her audience.
In an Instagram post, Toyin shared a screenshot of a message she received from a therapist. The therapist recounted how her elderly client found relief and joy after watching Toyin’s latest cinema release, Iyalode, during a practical therapy session.
Responding to the heartfelt feedback, Toyin wrote, “I just don’t shoot movies, I’m a Prophet and I speak and heal people through my Movies. IYALODE is still showing in cinemas in Nigeria, please find time to watch and be blessed.”
Toyin’s impact as a filmmaker has been evident through her remarkable achievements. Just weeks ago, her movie Alakada Bad and Boujee was ranked the 5th highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time, adding to her growing list of milestones.
In March, the dynamic actress received the prestigious Trailblazer Award at the 2024 Silverbird Man of the Year Awards. Celebrating the honor, Toyin reflected on her journey, stating that the recognition reaffirmed her belief in hard work, perseverance, and passion.
While Toyin’s path hasn’t been without challenges, she has consistently embraced them as stepping stones. Last year, she expressed gratitude for surpassing her previous records, acknowledging the obstacles she faced and how God consistently showed up for her.
Toyin also addressed critics who attempted to discredit her work. In a previous post, she emphasized that she views herself as her only competition and expressed appreciation for her fans and supporters.
