Nollywood star Damola Olatunji has set social media buzzing after he posted a video of himself proposing to a mystery lady. The actor, known for his roles in Yoruba films, shared the clip on his Instagram page, where he was seen on one knee presenting a ring to the woman, who accepted his proposal.
In a poetic caption, Damola wrote:
“In the quiet REFLECTION of HOUSE 17, where THE JOURNEY of love began with my AFESONA, I see how every SACRIFICE (ETUTU), every shadow of the slave trader (OLOWO ERU), and every silence (IPALOLO) of the visitor (ALEJO) has only deepened the bond that makes our love eternal. MY SUMMAYA, despite all odds, our YES is still YES.”
This public display of affection has sparked mixed reactions, especially considering Damola’s past relationship with actress Bukola Arugba, the mother of his twins.
Back in May 2023, Bukola publicly confirmed their split via a statement from her lawyers, clarifying that they were never married but had parted ways. The announcement came after months of speculation about the status of their relationship.
Since the separation, Damola has remained largely unbothered. He continued to post photos and videos that show him enjoying life, describing himself as a “grace carrier” and a man who chooses peace over drama.
In a past interview, he addressed public misconceptions about him, denying claims that he abandoned his home or marriage. He expressed that love can fade, and sometimes, the best thing couples can do is to move on peacefully.
The new proposal video, however, reopened conversations about his love life. One fan playfully questioned him in the comment section, asking:
“Na every time, you dey give woman ring?”
Damola’s witty reply was:
“Yes na. Ring giving is a necessity. Abi you need one ni? Ring still dey o.”
