Nigerian businessman and auto dealer IVD (Ikechukwu Ogbonna) reportedly arrested while attempting to travel to Qatar on Friday, August 1st, 2025.
According to blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus, insiders revealed that IVD was apprehended at the airport due to restrictions tied to an ongoing Domestic Violence case involving his late wife, Bimbo. The case is still in court, and he is reportedly barred from leaving Nigeria until it is resolved.
Sources claim IVD will remain in custody until Monday, August 4th, 2025, when he is expected to be charged in court. The report also stated that his fiancée, Blessing CEO, confirmed his arrest and is making efforts to assist him.
This arrest brings renewed attention to IVD’s troubled past. He has faced multiple controversies since the death of his wife, Bimbo, on October 15, 2022, after years of alleged domestic abuse.
Bimbo’s sister, Mama Jazz, publicly accused IVD of being responsible for her death. However, IVD denied the allegations, claiming his wife often displayed violent behaviour during arguments while pretending to be a different person in public.
In earlier social media posts, the businessman expressed heartbreak over being estranged from his children following the incident. He revealed that losing both his wife and kids left him feeling empty, to the point of considering taking his own life.
