Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has strongly criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government for its poor budget implementation, stating that only 30% of the 2024 budget has been executed while discussions have already shifted to the 2026 budget.

Speaking during a visit by a delegation of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women leaders at the Government House, Mohammed accused the Federal Government of inefficiency, saying, “The Federal Government is not working; everyone can see that.”

He expressed dismay over the lack of seriousness in governance, noting that three budgets are currently before the National Assembly despite minimal progress on the 2024 budget.

The governor attributed the situation to broader governance failures under the APC and called on the PDP to reorganise and reclaim power to restore accountability and national direction.

During the meeting, Governor Bala also emphasised the need for greater women’s inclusion in leadership roles, urging the PDP to fully implement its 35% affirmative action policy.

He highlighted his administration’s efforts in Bauchi, where women oversee key ministries such as budget and planning, moving beyond traditional gender-based roles.

Hajiya Inna Chiroma, leader of the delegation, commended the governor for his commitment to gender inclusion and called on other PDP leaders to follow his example. She stressed the importance of fulfilling the party’s promises to ensure women’s active participation in governance.
