The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed that airstrikes conducted under Operation Hadin Kai successfully eliminated more than 15 terrorists in Borno State.
According to a statement released by the NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation took place on September 3, 2025.
The mission was launched following credible intelligence reports and extensive surveillance that identified a newly established terrorist enclave located west of Zuwa within the Sambisa general area.
The statement detailed that the carefully planned and precisely executed air interdiction targeted hideouts harbouring fighters and commanders believed responsible for recent hostilities in the Bitta area.
The airstrikes effectively destroyed key structures critical to the terrorists’ operational capabilities, significantly crippling their capacity to organise and launch further attacks. This decisive action not only neutralised more than 15 combatants but also disrupted the chain of command within the terrorist network.
Air Commodore Ejodame emphasised that the successful mission is a critical component of the broader joint counter-terrorism efforts in the North-East region. The air operations are designed to directly support the movements and objectives of ground troops, creating a synergistic effect aimed at dismantling terrorist networks.
This recent achievement underscores the ongoing commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to degrade terrorist capabilities and restore security to affected communities. The operation reflects a continued strategy of applying targeted military pressure to undermine and ultimately eliminate terrorist activities in the region.
