The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has issued a strong message to President Bola Tinubu, stating that Nigerians will not forgive his administration if it fails to address the soaring cost of petroleum products following the removal of the fuel subsidy.
Addressing his congregation in Akure, Ondo State, the clergyman emphasised the urgent need for the government to take decisive action to alleviate the economic hardship faced by citizens.
Pastor Giwa stressed that the current high price of fuel is causing significant suffering among the population and called on President Tinubu to swiftly implement measures to remedy the situation.
He warned that maintaining the present cost of petroleum would lead to lasting discontent and a lack of forgiveness from the Nigerian people toward the administration.
In addition to the issue of fuel prices, the pastor highlighted the importance of fulfilling the promise to restructure Nigeria.
He argued that comprehensive restructuring is essential for the nation to achieve greatness and regain its standing among the community of nations. Drawing from biblical references, particularly the role of Timothy as a restructuring agent in early churches, Pastor Giwa urged the president to undertake necessary constitutional and political reforms.
Pastor Giwa referenced First Corinthians 4:17 and Philippians 2:19 to underscore the importance of leadership and transformation, calling on Tinubu to honour his commitment to restructuring and thereby secure a positive legacy for his government.
