Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, have officially parted ways with Julian Nagelsmann. Even more, they have brought in Thomas Tuchel as his replacement.
Nagelsmann has won 60 of his 84 games in charge since taking over in July 2021. He has also lifted one Bundesliga trophy and two German Super Cups across his tenure. However, Bayern is struggling domestically this season. They are second on the table, behind Borussia Dortmund. They also lost 2-1 against Bayern Leverkusen before the international break.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern decided to act fast to get Thomas Tuchel. Especially as he was an option for Tottenham and potentially Real Madrid. Basically, they did not want to miss out on their favourite candidate.
Tuchel, 49, has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in September under the new ownership of Todd Boehly. The former Chelsea boss is expected to take his opening training session on Monday with his first game set to be on April 1 against his former club Dortmund, who sit top of the table, after which he will face Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.
