Nollywood actress Omotunde Adebowale, widely known as Adaku, has stepped forward to address the contentious issue between the late Aderounmu Adejumoke’s brother and fellow actress Funke Akindele.
In a candid sit-down interview, Adaku delved into her personal interactions with Adejumoke, shedding light on her struggles and the dynamics of her familial support system. Adaku revealed that Adejumoke had stayed at her house for five days after a movie premiere, during which she observed aspects of her experience that she couldn’t openly disclose.
Expressing her perspective on the matter, Adaku remarked that if Adejumoke had received the love and support from her family as they claimed, certain unfortunate events might have been averted. She recounted a conversation she had with Adejumoke last year, where the late actress expressed feelings of neglect and dissatisfaction within the industry, hinting at a cry for help.
Adaku drew attention to the responsibility of family in providing support during challenging times, citing her own experience with her elder sister who travels from London to Nigeria whenever she faces depression.
Central to Adaku’s narrative was her assertion that Funke Akindele bore no obligation to support Adejumoke, emphasizing that familial responsibility should have taken precedence. She challenged the notion that Akindele’s public mourning or lack thereof reflected insincerity.
The controversy surrounding Adejumoke’s brother’s criticism of Funke Akindele has ignited a wave of online discourse, with netizens joining the fray with varying opinions and reactions.
