The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended six people for allegedly receiving stolen tricycles.
The arrests were made last Wednesday, March 20, according to a statement issued by the command on Sunday, marking another important step towards tackling the illicit practice of tricycle theft.
The statement was issued by SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s public relations officer, he said:
“On March 20, 2024, the efforts of officers attached to SCID Yola led to the apprehension of six individuals for the offence of receiving stolen tricycles.”
According to the statement, the suspects are: Idi Abdullahi, 20, of Rumde Baru, Jimeta, Yola North; Mohammad Tukur, 21, of Rimergo, Borno State; and Umar Hassan, 33, of Rimergo, Borno State.
Umar Yusha’u, 26, of Mubi South in Adamawa State, Usman Ladan, 22, of Rumde Baru in Jimeta, Yola North, and Abubakar Idrisa, 23, of Rimergo, Borno State, are the other suspects.
The police said:
“Following thorough investigations conducted, the principal suspects were promptly charged to court and remanded in a correctional center pending investigation.”
